The average age of many nations in Europe is exceptionally high, which has made scientists looking for a relationship with their lifestyle, asking in the same time is red wine healthy for us?
Despite the high level of technology development, Poles do not live long compared with the longevity of the inhabitants of Spain, Italy or France. Scientists are investigating this issue to conclude that nutrition is behind their way of living. But is a healthy diet an only reason? Maybe this tendency to drink fine wines so well preserves the inhabitants of these countries? Research has begun to support this theory. Media following this trace immediately responded with a lot of articles, which convinced, among other things, that it is worth to drink a glass of red wine every day or they indicated the 10 health benefits of drinking it.
However, in all these texts on the benefits of red wine, they do not write all the truth about results of the real research about effects of this alcohol on the human body. The red wine, however, contains valuable chemicals, but not in large enough quantities to bring health benefits. All studies show that drinking red wine also has a negative effect on the body because it contains alcohol.
Is red wine healthy for us? – magic power of resweratol
The main ingredient of red wine, which exhibits a therapeutic effect, is resveratrol. It is a chemical compound found in peanuts, chocolate and fruit skins such as blueberries, raspberry or grapes. These plants produce resveratrol as a protective agent in response to injuries or in situations where they are attacked by bacteria or fungi. Over the past few decades, scientists have found that resveratrol may have a preventative and even curative effect on many diseases. These complaints include, among other things, type 2 diabetes, cancer, neurological diseases and even bacterial infections. There are results of studies suggesting that resveratrol increases "good" cholesterol levels and generally improves heart health. So, the fact that red wine contains resveratrol justifies the conscious consumption of this alcohol by many people. However, it is worth remembering that the results of research on the effects of this chemical is related to rodents rather than humans and we do not know what it’s the right dosage, both safe and effective for humans. If you take too little, you will not feel the results; too much-there is a risk of unpleasant gastrointestinal effects such as vomiting or diarrhea.
Remember – red wine it is an alcohol
For resveratrol to be able to act on the human body as per mousey, a person would have to drink from 100 to 1000 glasses of red wine daily. However, it is not possible to ignore the significant fact that it contains alcohol. Drinking in large quantities of red wine certainly does not heal, but it causes dependence on alcohol, which also results in serious health ailments. In 2014, a study was conducted in the Italian-famous wine region of Italy. They analyzed the urine of people drinking wine at the age of 65, both women and men, and found that the amount of resveratrol in it didn’t completely influence on their health status. So is the lamp of red wine a day has any significance, except that it introduces a scheme of alcohol addiction, which can lead in effect to alcoholism? Scientific studies have not confirmed that regular drinking of red wine improves the work of the cardiovascular system or the heart. Those who claimed to have lived longer by drinking a glass of this alcohol every day, were dead later than others, rather because they were eating healthy, or just had good genes. The health action of resveratrol has been scientifically proven only on mice or rats and you should remember that when you are going to drink a glass of red wine. Do it just for the enjoyment of its wonderful taste, without thinking that it improves your health.
Research shows that alcohol is the reason for 10 percent of the world's deaths among people aged 15-49 years. The international group of scientists therefore concluded that the safest level of drinking is its lack.
